After several years of playing with, quitting and being kicked out of various LA bands, including the Abe Lincoln Story, the Acoustic Soul Strings and the Goliards, the champ decided that he needed to leave behind his decadent rock star's existence and get back to his roots; to take his music to the people, into the streets... The champ tells his story: "First, Road Monkey appeared on the scene, discovered at the Bible Tabernacle Thrift Store. I knew I had the ideal front-man." "..then I wired together a Gorilla guitar amplifier, a Radio Shack PA, a Panasonic portable 8-track player, two drive-in movie speakers and a car battery on a dolly." "...but what really brought it all together was when I found the slime-green milk crate to sit on." So equipped, the champ set out to brave the cappuccino-sodden crowds of the Santa Monica Promenade and the sun-dried sin-seekers of the Venice Boardwalk. Along the way, jeers turned to cheers and the champ recruited his versatile and solid sidemen. Together, they've been working their way through the LA club scene and will soon be heading your way. So there you have it. Come see the champ and you won't be disappointed. "About this whole 'champ' thing - wouldn't something a bit more self-effacing be appropriate?"
