Two Days Straight with The Goliards (1992)
This was the champ's first recording of his own material. It was recorded by Ari Vainio on his Fostex 4-track in a rehearsal room behind Bugg Alley garage in Santa Monica. the champ sang and played guitar on "Nadine" and bass on "Far As the Eye Can See." Dan Pace played vice-versa. For drums, they used Ari's Roland TR-505. They couldn't figure out how to get it to do swing eighth notes so the beat was pretty skeletal. Ignorance of tape suppliers at this time caused the recording to be released on Tandy C-10 computer cassettes!

The Goliards (1993)
The band actually spent money to record this one, though not much! Several kitchen appliances, a TV and a turntable were donated to the studio to offset disputed cost overruns. the champ and Dan were joined by Keith Fine on drums, who quit shortly thereafter to join a ska band.

the champ's "Lost Period" (1994)
The year 1994 saw the champ abandoning "The Goliards" and stumbling through this quagmire we call life searching for a new direction. He worked as a substitute teacher and had a "real" job running the swimming pools for the City of Santa Monica. During this time he inhaled chlorine gas, played upright bass for The Abe Lincoln Story, made some bad home recordings and hung out with Ringo at the Troubadour...
grating electric noise and cheesy acoustic pop songs (1995)
It was the spring of 1995 when the champ bounced back off the ropes. he began to perform as a solo artist, singing and playing guitar. The first indoor gig was at Club Boomerang in San Francisco, opening for Dan's new band Skyscraper. His friend Danielle played drums on this demo and helped him and Landru record it at Spock's Brain (310) 836-4113, then on 1/4 inch 8-track. the champ sang, played electric and acoustic guitar and bass and played the tambourine. Immediately after the recording, the champ went to Ireland to find himself, drink Guinness and look for a castle.
